Civil Maintenance Team Member

As a Civil Maintenance Team Member, you’ll be part of a dynamic and supportive team within the City Maintenace portfolio, contributing to the delivery of high-quality civil construction and maintenance services across the City of Charles Sturt.

Success in this role means:

• Delivering safe and efficient road, footpath, and drainage works
• Operating plant and equipment with care and precision
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to a culture of safety and continuous improvement
• Providing excellent customer service to residents and stakeholders

You’ll be hands-on in shaping the city’s infrastructure, ensuring our public spaces are safe, accessible, and well-maintained.

About You:

As the successful candidate you will:

• Hold a current MR Truck Driver’s Licence and White Card accreditation
• Have proven experience in civil construction and maintenance operations
• Be confident operating plant and equipment such as skid steers, excavators, and backhoes
• Understand WHS legislation and apply it in your daily work
• Be a team player who communicates effectively and works well with minimal supervision
• Be committed to creating and maintaining child-safe environments
• Have basic plan reading and surveying skills
• Be flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic about contributing to your community
• Hold (or are willing to obtain) one or more of the following:
  • Work Zone Traffic Management Certificate
  • Skid Steer (LL), Excavator (LE), Backhoe (LB) Licence
  • Confined Space or Working at Heights Certificate.

The City Maintenance Portfolio - Civil and Property Maintenance Team are a hands-on, community-focused team responsible for maintaining and constructing the city’s civil infrastructure. From footpaths to stormwater systems, we take pride in delivering safe, high-quality outcomes that enhance the daily lives of our residents.

The Detail:

The position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis and is classified at Level ME5, with a starting salary of $75,209.57 per annum + Super.
